A Perfect “Sit”

Some of the Construction Techniques we use to achieve Long-lasting, Good-looking Upholstered Products with a Perfect “Sit” are:

•       Kiln-dried Hardwood Frames, Double-dowelled Joinery, and Solid-wood Corner Blocking.

•       High-resilience foam cushion cores: Our standard seat cushion rating is 2.5 density with 30-pound compression; Standard for seat backs is 1.8 density with 25-pound compression.

•       Nail heads applied by hand, instead of cheaper strip nail heads.

•       Standard Upholstery materials adhere to California flame retardance Technical Bulletin (TB) 117; upon request we offer Standard drawer slide is a self-return, soft-close under mount ¾ extension.

•       Heavy-duty Leveling Glides are included.

•       TB 133 compliance with Applied Fire Stop Fabric.

Quality Case Goods & Seating

Our high-quality Case Goods and Seating are designed to Withstand the demands of the Contract Environment:

•       Rigorous Stock Selection Process insures the removal of all defects.

•       Standard Veneer Thickness set at .6mm, Twice the Industry Standard thickness.

•       We insist on the use of MDF Substrates instead of particleboard in Primary Case Construction for its Superior Machinability, Fastener hold, Resistance to impact damage, and Dimensional Consistency and Stability.

•       Our standard MDF is low formaldehyde EN2. (EN1, EN0 or 0 VOC are available if specified.)

•       Case Interiors feature Solid-wood Frame Dust Panels at case bottom and between drawers.

•       Case backs are a minimum of 8mm in thickness, but for larger cases we employ 10mm or thicker panels; Back panels are always screwed in place rather than stapled to reduce the risk of fastener failure.

•       Tongue-and-groove Joinery is used in Frame-and-panel assemblies in locations such as Doors, Case sides, fully captured Backs and Tabletops

•       Standard Drawer Boxes feature Dovetail Joinery with a Non-Integral face fastened in place with Cleanly Countersunk Screws (also referred to as a “Five-sided drawer box”)
